Dingle

The Place...

Millions discovered this corner of the world when Luke Skywalker was finally found amidst the ancient monastery of Skellig Michael - a pinnacle of rock rising just offshore. Referred to as ‘the most beautiful place on earth’ by National Geographic, the Dingle Peninsula stretches about 50 kilometers into the Atlantic Ocean from Ireland's south-west coast.

The Slieve Mish mountains stretch across much of this distance, rising to the heights of Mount Brandon, Ireland's second highest peak. Below, waves crash against steep sea-cliffs of Devonian sandstone. Turquoise waters pool in hidden inlets with enticing beaches.

The town of Dingle was founded in Norman times as a key port but ogham stones  dotting the countryside attest to much older Celtic settlement. Corca Dhuibhne, as the area is known is a unique storehouse of Irish cultural heritage. Until recently, the peninsula was remote from the influences of the modern world, and this meant that the language and traditions of the area have survived intact to a greater degree than in most of Ireland. Much of the peninsula of  is a Gaeltacht or an area where the Irish language (Gaeilge or Gaelainn) is widely spoken in the home, workplace or school.

Rugged natural beauty, unique Irish culture and remarkable Celtic history combine to make Dingle one of the most enchanting locations on earth.

Working...

Dingle is, simply put, spectacular. Remote and quiet in the offseason, it needs to be experienced to be fully understood. Augustinian monks gathered offshore here for a reason - there are few places as suited to inspiration and contemplation.

There are five broadband internet providers serving Dingle offering speeds up to 1Gb. Our fully equipped co-working studio is located overlooking the ocean at the edge of town.

Living...

Dingle is increasingly known for its locally sourced foods. From locally landed fresh and smoked fish, lamb, beef to cheddar cheeses and ice cream made using the milk of the rare Kerry Cow, local free range eggs, locally produced Pudding, sausages and rashers, to preserves, breads, chocolates, pies, salamis, chorizo and patés.

Residents of the Dingle Aldea will be co-located in town.  Single and shared rooms are available.

Playing...

In autumn and winter, Dingle continues to  serve as a base for rambling, mountain trekking, and cycling. Snow will fly in the mountains and there will be rain - these are your high productivity days.

Logistics...

Dingle is under an hour driving time from Kerry International Airport and 4.5 hours from Dublin. The town is small, with only 2000 people, and has two grocery stores, three pharmacies a medical centre and, of course, fifty pubs.

A number of other small communities dot the Peninsula but Dingle is the largest. Tralee, a city of 23000, is about a 45 minute drive away.

Aldeo provides a shuttle service and a full-time concierge to support all of our residents.
